January Worship Services

SUNDAY, JANUARY 7TH EPIPHANY
“The Wisdom of Taking Another Road” will be the homily today, based on our sole Epiphany text, Matthew 2:1-12. Holy Communion will be served (by visitors of the wisdom tradition) , and a bright New Year together will begin!

SUNDAY, JANUARY 14TH MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. WEEKEND
John 1:43-51 guides our thinking today, as we explore the calling of some of the early followers, skeptical and not at all whom one would expect Jesus to single out. Historic prayers and readings from the writings of Dr. Martin Luther King will be included, as well. The message is entitled “Expecting Greater Things”.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 21ST
Today we hear the familiar yet still compelling story of the calling of those very first disciples, told this year in the words of Mark 1:14-20. The sermon will be called “Casting and Mending”.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 28TH
We turn today to the Psalms…Psalm 111, to be precise. It is a great song of praise, and will provoke the sermon, “Whole-Hearted, and Here’s Why…”.
