April Worship Services

SUNDAY, APRIL 1 EASTER SUNDAY

This year we enjoy the Easter recounting as described by Mark 16:1-8, enhanced by festival music and all the joy of the day. We also get to have Holy Communion today, which will make things even more special! The homily is fittingly called “April Fool, Indeed!”

SUNDAY, APRIL 8 SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER

John 20:19-31 tells the oh-so-human tale of Thomas, more often known as Doubting Thomas, a character with whom we feel an uneasy kinship! More resurrection songs, of course, and a sermon titled “Beyond A Doubt” will be featured.

SUNDAY, APRIL 15 NATIVE AMERICAN MINISTRIES SUNDAY

Today we focus on the ministry and spirituality of our Native American brothers and sisters, and receive the denominational offering for supporting ministries among them. Luke 24:36b-48 is a perfect text for this day, and will lead us into the message, “Epicentric”. Native music will also be featured.

SUNDAY, APRIL 22 FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

“The Ecumenical Shepherd” is the message this morning, drawn from Jesus’ teaching in John 10:11-18. It is a strong text and should call forth a strong response from the flock today!

SUNDAY, APRIL 29 FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

We continue in the gospel of John, chapter 15, verses 1-8, a wonderful teaching about our relatedness and thriving in Jesus. The message will be called “Fruit-Bearing Vines”. Expect a nurturing, gentle service today.
