September Worship Services
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND
Pastor Dave is away this Labor Day weekend, but we are honored to have Rev. Bill Such as our guest preacher and leading us in Holy Communion as well.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH
RALLY DAY and HOMECOMING SUNDAY
James 2:1-10, 14-17 is a magnificent text for our Rally Day and Homecoming Sunday, laying out the basics of our faith so very cleanly. We welcome the Choir back from their summer refreshment, regular Sunday School resumes, and we anticipate a wonderful celebration after the 10:30 service with food and friends and music and
games and reconnecting all around. The morning message on this special day is called “Beyond Favoritism into Faithfulness”.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH
We return to the gospel of Mark today, chapter 8:27-38, for a pivotal story of disciples and the challenges of following Jesus, challenges that have not softened over the intervening centuries. The sermon this morning will be called “Navigating Denial”.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD
Today we loop around again to the plain-spoken epistle of James, chapters 3:13-4:3, 7-8a, for a discussion of how we can best exercise our wisdom and faith in the world, and avoid the pitfalls that distract and ensnare so many religious folks across the globe. “Show and Tell?” will be the morning message today.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH
Pastor Dave is in New York State this weekend performing a wedding for a former youth group member and her fiancée…please join us for wonderful music and a thoughtful message from one of our skilled guest speakers.
