Sunday, December 4th
ADVENT 2 The second Sunday in Advent always features John the Baptist, this year presented by Matthew 3:1-12. Holy Communion will be joyfully celebrated today, and the message “Under Construction” will be offered.
Sunday, December 11th
ADVENT 3, GAUDETE Some of the most famous words of this holy season come from Isaiah 35:1-10, and we will hear them today in this service of irrepressible joy. The title of the sermon will be “Gaudete, Christus Natus Est!”, and a lot of festive music is planned.
Sunday, December 18th
ADVENT 4 Things calm down a bit on the fi nal Sunday of Advent, as we hear the unfolding drama from Matthew 1:18-25 regarding the birth of Jesus the Messiah. Mary and Joseph are center stage today, with a sermon that showcas-es them both, entitled “Doing the Right Thing”.
Saturday, December 24th
CHRISTMAS EVE 3pm and 7pm We will offer two Christmas Eve services this year, replete with candles and carols and all the trimmings.
Both will be held in the Sanctuary to give us room for the air to circulate! We hear the story most fully recounted in Luke 2:1-20, and sing lots of carols, and possibly even enjoy the brief message “And Suddenly…”.
Sunday, December 25TH
CHRISTMAS DAY
ONE SERVICE ONLY, 10:30 A gentle morning of worship and singing, and an uplifting homily that will be called “So Hallowed and So Gracious Is the Time”. This will be our last time in church in 2022…I look forward to basking in the Christmas glow together!
