Women’s Group Name Change

Trinity UMC’s women’s group had been known as THE UNITED METHODIST WOMEN or dubbed UMW for decades, but in 2022 the official title was changed by the central board to UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH. It was explained in the March RESPONSE. Regardless of the name change, the UWF continues its mission of fellowship and good works. They have held annual projects to earn money to support nine local charitable groups with their Spring Rummage Sales and December craft fair known as the Bazaar. They have also put together cook books to earn additional funds. Members pledge support as well. At monthly meetings currently held on the third Wednesdays, speakers have been invited to inform attendees about various local groups UWF supports as well as new ones of interest such as Suicide Prevention and the college’s WILDCAT PANTRY. Refreshments are also included and all women are invited whether church members or “just visiting.”
