CAIC News & More!

United Against Hate continues, with a specific week of 21 – 28 September:

Dear CAIC Clergy and Community Members,

  • United Against Hate Week kicks off September 22nd.  As an Interfaith Council, United Against Hate Week is a time for all of us to reinforce a strong message of unity in our own communities. We encourage you to highlight the importance of this work we are doing together during your religious services 9/20-22 OR 9/27/29. We look forward to hearing how each of us shares this with our communities in our own unique way.
  • North State Stands United Against Hate
    • United Against Hate was created by civic leaders in direct response to the sharp rise in expressions of hate in our communities. We want to empower local residents to take action in their local communities and alter the course of this growing intolerance.
    • When cities and their residents work together against hate, we can restore respect and civil discourse, embrace the strength of diversity and build inclusive and equitable communities for all.
    • United Against Hate Week (Sep. 21-27, 2024) is a call for seven days of local civic action by people in every community to stop the hate and implicit biases that are a dangerous threat to the safety and civility of our neighborhoods, towns and cities.

Important!  Get this on your calendar:   The annual (although not for many years) CAIC dinner will be on Thursday 14 November at First Christian Church.  There will be a video about Not In Our Town, panel, and table discussions.  It will be publicized on KZFR, so stay tuned (or see Pamela) for how to get tickets!
